The normal hours of operation for the Motor Carrier Transport Division is Monday thru Friday 7 am until 5 pm.

Note: You may need county permits as well so be sure to inquiring or filing.

Pilot Car - Escort vehicle requirements.

Length: 2 lanes over 100’ one rear/chase, 4 lanes over 100’ one in front.  Anything over this is still one rear/chase.
Width: 2 lanes over 11’ wide, one front escort and one rear.  4 lanes over 14’ wide only needs on rear.
Height: Anything over 14’ 6” requires a high pole on all routes.
Note: Permits are valid for 3 days only - be sure to read permit for exact clarification.
 

Travel Restrictions

This is real nice; Travel is permitted 1/2 hour after sunrise and 1/2 hour before sunset Monday thru Thursday and all day on Saturdays, and even until noon on Sundays. And if your under 100’ long or 10’ wide or 14’ tall you can move at night.  This is a oversize or over weight drivers dream state as far as travel times go!
